1992 – 97 : Bachelor of Visual Arts (B.V.A) in Painting (1st Class First) from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata.
1997 – 99 : Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A) in Painting (1st Class) from Visva – Bharati University, Santiniketan.
1999 : National Educational Test (NET) qualification from the University Grants Commission (UGC) of India for Lectureship in the field of Visual Arts.

University Teaching Experience : Employed as an Associate Professor in the Department of Visual Arts (Painting), University of Kalyani, West Bengal, from July 2012 onwards. Served as a Guest Lecturer from January 2002 till May 2004, and as a UGC Research Fellow from July 2004 till June 2008 in the Department of Painting, Faculty of Visual Arts, RBU, Kolkata. Took classes at both the Bachelor’s and Master's levels.

Research Experience : Worked under the Ph.D. programme (UGC Research Grant) at R.B.U., Kolkata from Dec.2005 till May2010. Research topic - The ‘Jorasanko’ and the ‘Khoai’ : Rethinking about the Association and Responses of Artists. The study historically looks into the development of the art of landscape painting and the significant approaches with regard to the work of some of the past Masters of Bengal, and how they were influenced by the surrounding environment in which they lived and worked. (Thesis not submitted)

Paper presentation in UGC- sponsored National Seminar : Delivered a lecture and visual presentation entitled Home – A Few Cultural Readings of the Live-in Environment in the UGC-sponsored National Seminar – ‘Whither Culture Studies : Contexts and Contestations’ conducted by the Department of English, Faculty of Arts, University of Kalyani on 5th March, 2013.

Literary Contribution : ‘Art for the Future’ - published in the ‘Prabuddha Bharata’ (January 2001 issue), an English monthly journal (started by Swami Vivekananda in 1896).It is an article exploring some proposals about how art can help humanity within the changing contemporary scenario, and enhance its scope for future prospects.

‘The Changing Scenario’ : Scope, Prospects and Proposals’ – published in the ‘Vichitra’(Vol 5., 2009), a magazine on art and culture of the Faculty of Visual Arts, Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata. An article where the role of an artist has been looked into with regard to the contemporary directions in the field.

‘Land-Scape-Art : An Example of Behavioural Response’ - published in the ‘Ahana’(Vol.2, 2010), a yearly magazine on Art and Culture of the Govt. College of Art & Craft, Agartala, Tripura. The write-up signifies the subjective interpretation of the personal association of an artist (in this case Rabindranath Tagore) with respect to the space that he has encountered.

‘Art Practice within the Academic Structure : A Methodological Evaluation’ – published in the first issue(2013) of ‘Kalyani’, the magazine initiated and brought out by the Department of Visual Arts, University of Kalyani.

Worked as an Associate Editor for the Art Etc. magazine (formerly an ECA publication, later a Chisel Crafts Pvt. Ltd. publication). Have contributed news articles, exhibition reviews for the magazine also.

Professional Exposure / Participations : Have been exhibiting works since studentship days. Working as a professional fine artist from 1999 onwards. Works have been selected and displayed in important national level exhibitions, curated shows and other group shows at major centres all over India and at some places abroad. Held five large solo exhibitions - in Kolkata (at Birla Academy of Art & Culture, Dec.2000 & Feb.2004 and at Aakriti Art gallery, May-June 2010) and in New Delhi (at AIFACS,Feb.2002 and at Gallerie Ganesha, March-April 2012), which have been acclaimed widely. Invited by different organizations and institutions for participation in art workshops and camps.
